The Renault 'True Code' OBD system, as the name suggests, is for Renault based vehicles using HITAG-2 keys/cards - with the 12 character pincode.

The Renault true code OBD system connects to the vehicle through the diagnostic connector, and with the PC software supplied shows the true dealer code for the vehicle. Simply click on 'Program' and it will prompt you through the programming sequence for learning new keys/cards to the vehicle.

Naturally, once the pincode has been retrieved, you can also use it for any security/coding/replacement of Renault body control UCH ECUs, using a Dec Superscan or Renault Clip.

Intructions below:

The Renault Module

Upon choosing the Renault module, we are presented with the simple user friendly menu screen below:

Simply select the vehicle required from the drop down menu. We will select a Vauxhall Vivaro. After selecting the vehicle we click on 'Connect to Selected Vehicle'

The blue brick progress bar builds to show us that the software is communicating with the vehicle. We are then shown the number of keys programmed, their unique ID numbers and finally the dealer pincode. As you can see in the example above, we now have a 'Start Program' button appear. This can be clicked and the software will guide you step by step through the programming procedure.

Upon successful completion of programming you will be asked to wait two minutes before trying the key. And that's it – job done.

IMPORTANT - Notes on programming:

• Only a virgin HITAG transponder with the correct formatting can be programmed in
• Second hand cards and keys (and therefore locked with an unknown crypto key) cannot be programmed
• All keys and cards must be programmed in one sequence – since any not programmed will be deleted. These can be added back in at a later date
• Battery voltage absolutely MUST be above 12.2V to allow for a correct diagnostic session and programming sequence
• Hands free cards are backwards compatible with non-hands free cars. However, you cannot program in a non-hands free card into a car that requires a hands free card. The procedure will fail!
